JUDGMENT: (per the Hon’ble, the Chief Justice): (Oral)

By this appeal, the appellant has impugned the judgment and order dated 4th June, 2026, passed by the learned Single Judge in WP (C) No.242 of 2026, by which the learned Single Judge dismissed the petitioner’s petition challenging her debarment from participating in the VEC election.

2. Mr. N.D. Chullai, learned AAG has tendered a letter dated 5th June, 2026, issued by the Block Development Officer & Programme Officer, MGNREGS Selsella C&RD Block, West Garo Hills. The said letter is taken on record. From the said letter it appears that the office has no objection to the appellant/writ petitioner contesting the VEC election.

3. In view of the aforesaid, the order issued by the Block Development Officer & Programme Officer, MGNREGS Selsella C&RD Block, West Garo Hills dated 25th May, 2026, barring and disqualifying the appellant/writ petitioner from contesting the forthcoming Sobribari VEC election, stands quashed and set aside.

4. In view of the aforesaid, nothing survives for further consideration in the appeal. The appeal stands disposed of.
