ORDER

01.09.2026 Order No.

01.

1. This matter is taken up through Hybrid mode.

2. Heard learned counsel for the Petitioner. Perused the CRLMC application as well as the grounds taken therein and the prayer made.

3. By filing the present application under Section 482 of Cr.P.C. the accused in G.R. Case No.158 of 2015, pending in the file of learned C.J.M., Paralakhemundi, which corresponds to Paralakhemundi P.S. Case No.56(6) of 2015 has approached this Court for a direction to the learned trial Court to conclude the trial in a time bound manner.

4. Learned counsel for the Petitioner, at the outset, contended that although the FIR was lodged in the year 2015 and the criminal proceeding is pending for more than one decade, no effective steps have been taken to ensure that the trial is concluded expeditiously.

Page 2 of 2. He further submitted that prolongation of such trial has caused mental agony and harassment to the accused-Petitioner. It was also brought to the notice of this Court that the right to a speedy trial has been guaranteed under the Constitution to every citizen of this country.

5. Taking into consideration the fact that the trial has been pending for more than a decade, this Court deems it proper to dispose of the present application by directing the learned trial court to make every endeavor to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four months. The parties are directed to cooperate with the learned trial Court without taking any unnecessary adjournments.

6. With the aforesaid observation/direction, the CRLMC application stands disposed of.
