ORDER

21.08.2026

02.

1. The original writ petition being W.P.(C) No.7256 of 2025 was disposed of by this Court on 15th April, 2025 directing the authorities to take a decision on an application taken out by the petitioner relating to an alternative site for mining purpose.

2. The instant contempt application is filed by the petitioner alleging the willful and deliberate violation of the said direction by the alleged contemnors in not disposing of the said application within the time stipulated in the order.

3. At this juncture, Mr. Anand Prakash Das, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that during the currency of the instant contempt application, the said application has already been disposed of by the authorities, which is further corroborated in the affidavits of compliance filed by the alleged contemnors; copies whereof have been handed over to Mr. Das, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner in the Court today.

4. Mr. Das submits that his client does not intend to proceed with the instant contempt application because of the compliance of the order, though belatedly as he has filed an independent writ petition challenging the said order passed on the basis of the application made by the petitioner.

5. In view of the above, the contempt proceeding is dropped.
