ORDER

18.08.2026

1. On the last occasion, on the submission of learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court directed the learned Additional Government Advocate appearing for opposite party Nos.2 and 3, i.e., 1st appellate authority-cum-Tahasildar, Kujang as well as the Public Information Officer (PIO), Kujang in the district of Jagatsinghpur respectively to obtain instruction. Today, when the matter is taken up, Mr. Suryakanta Parhi, learned Addl. Standing Counsel having received written instruction, asserted that the State Information Commission has directed the petitioner to file application for grant of certified copy of the documents/information desired by the petitioner in terms of the prescribed procedure contained in the Odisha Record Manual, 1964.

2. Mr. Parhi, learned Addl. Standing Counsel submitted that as on date the said application as directed by the Odisha Information Commission has not been submitted to the appropriate authority.

3. Counsel for the petitioner submitted that due to inadvertence, the petitioner could not furnish the details as required for consideration of the application for grant of certified copy.

4. After arguing for some time, Mr. Rakesh Kumar Sarangi, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks leave to withdraw the writ petition with liberty to approach appropriate authority to comply with the order dated 29.04.2026 passed by the Odisha Information Commission. A memo to that effect is filed in Court today, which is taken on record.

5. Leave is granted.

6. The writ petition is disposed of as withdrawn reserving liberty to the petitioner to approach the appropriate authority to comply with the order dated 29.04.2026 passed by the Odisha Information Commission.
