Today, when the matter is listed, Mr. Saroj Kumar Rout, learned Additional Standing Counsel produces the instructions dated 12.07.2026 of the I.I.C., Nischintakoili Police Station, where the efforts to settle the matter amicably has been stated. It has also been stated that the Petitioner has never approached the police station for her grievance, but had sent her complaint by registered post. In spite of repeated calls, she did not turn up at the police station and she was seeking custody of her child and other articles, the case had not been registered. It was also found that she has two mother-in-laws and on the report of her mother- in-law Sasi Behera, Nemalo P.S. MMR No. 50 of 2025 had been registered on 03.12.2025 declaring the petitioner to be missing from 30.11.2025 from her in-laws’ house. On 07.12.2025, the Petitioner along with her family members had arrived at the Police Station and she took one month time and it was decided that both the family members will come to the Police Station for necessary counselling, but after one month passed neither the Petitioner nor her family members, nor her in-laws appeared in the Police Station for counselling. On 30.11.2025, the Petitioner left the house of the in-laws without informing anybody and she did not return on 03.12.2025, her elder mother-in-law had lodged the complaint at the Nemalo Police Station regarding her missing. When her husband was contacted over phone, he said, he wanted to continue his conjugal life with the Petitioner as they have a three years old son and would also seek for counselling with the Petitioner. The mother-in-laws also requested to bring back their daughter-in-law to the house. The Petitioner was contacted, but she repeated for taking her child and articles which she had brought from her house after marriage. 5. Mr. Pramod Kumar Rout, learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that the police never came to the house of the parents of the Petitioner, but only tried to contact her over telephone.

6. Be that as it may, since a case has already been registered, no useful purpose will be served by keeping this CRLMP pending, the CRLMP is therefore disposed of.

7. However, it is open to the Petitioner to take steps for amicable settlement of the case. If any settlement is arrived at, the same be informed to the I.I.C., Nischintakoili Police Station.

8. Urgent certified copy of this order be granted on proper application.
