1. Apprehending threat to their life and liberty, both petitioners, who are aged about 30 years and 43 years, respectively, have filed the present petition praying therein to issue appropriate directions to respondent No.2 to provide adequate protection to them at the hands of respondent No.4.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that at the instance of petitioner No.1, criminal proceedings vide FIR No.90, dated 10.06.2026, u/s 74, 76, 351(2), 351(3) of BNS at Police Station Jhabal, District Tarn Taran, were initiated against respondent No.4. In the said criminal case, respondent No.4 is still at large and has not been arrested. The jurisdictional police is not initiating any proceedings against him. Taking undue advantage of this fact, it is alleged that respondent No.4 has been continuously threatening petitioners to withdraw the aforesaid FIR and enter into compromise. Police authorities were also requested to provide adequate protection to them but no heed was paid. NISHA 2026.09.11 16:03 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
