1. The prayer in the criminal writ petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for the issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus for production and recovery of the minor daughter ‘priya’ and wife ‘Smt. Rambhateri’ of the petitioner, who are in illegal and unlawful custody and confinement of respondent No.5.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner contends that respondent No.5, namely, Karandeep has illegally detained his wife and daughter, and therefore, appropriate orders or direction be issued for their production.

3. The learned counsel for respondent No.5, on the other hand, contends that Rambhateri, wife of the petitioner, is living with respondent No.5/Karandeep of her own volition and is accompanied by her minor daughter, Priya. Therefore, the present petition is not maintainable. KUSUM 2026.09.03 11:03 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document PHHC Chandigarh
