1. Vide this petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C., petitioner seeks directions to learned Judicial Magistrate Ist Class, Ludhiana to expedite and conclude the trial in FIR No. 68 dated 18.03.2019 under Sections 160, 336 Indian Penal Code and Sections 25/27 Arms Act, Police Station Salem Tabri, District Police Commissionerate, Ludhiana, in a time bound manner.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner was facing trial in the aforementioned FIR. Challan was presented on 18.03.2023 but charges were framed in the case only on 21.02.2026/13.08.2026. Although, 7 years had passed, the trial was not progressing satisfactorily. Therefore, it is prayed that learned trial Court be directed to decide the case in a time bound manner.

3. Heard.

4. Orders passed by learned trial Court are on record and have been perused. There are total 28 accused facing trial. The trial has been AJAY GOSWAMI 2026.08.31 11:24 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

delayed on account of conduct of one or the other accused, who absented. Some of the accused have been declared proclaimed persons while some have died. Perusal of orders placed on record further show that learned Judicial Magistrate Ist Class, Ludhiana is making all efforts to proceed with the case expeditiously.

5. There are already directions on the administrative side of this Court for speedy disposal of old criminal cases. An action plan has also been formulated, wherein the oldest cases are to be disposed of in a time bound manner. No separate directions are, thus, required to be issued by the Court in this petition. It is expected that learned trial Court would decide the case expeditiously, considering the age of the matter.

6. Disposed of accordingly.

7. Pending CRM(s), if any, also stand disposed of.
