1. Petitioner seeks anticipatory bail in FIR No. 12 dated 16.01.2026 under Sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120-B Indian Penal Code, Police Station Dugri, District Police Commissionerate, Ludhiana. This is the first petition for anticipatory bail.

2. On 08.05.2026, following order was passed: “It has been contended by learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner has been falsely implicated in the present case. She has contended that from the allegations made, it is apparent that the whole thing is based on documentary evidence and custodial interrogation of the petitioner is not required. Learned counsel for the complainant has opposed the submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioner.

Learned State counsel has submitted that by virtue of the interim order dated 10.04.2026, this Court directed that no coercive action shall be taken against the petitioner, however, there was no order for joining investigation. In view of the above, interim order dated 10.04.2026 is modified to the extent that in the event of arrest, the petitioner shall be released on interim bail subject to the satisfaction of the Arresting/Investigating Officer. The petitioner shall join investigation before the Investigating Agency/Officer. He shall abide by the following conditions as envisaged under Section 482(2) of Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023:-

(i) That the petitioner shall make himself available for interrogation by a police officer as and when required.

(ii) That the petitioner shall not directly or indirectly make any inducement, threat or promise to any person acquainted with the facts of the case so as to dissuade him from disclosing such facts to the court or to any police officer.

(iii) That the petitioner shall not leave India without prior permission of the court. List on 28.07.2026.”

3. Learned State counsel on instructions from ASI Amolak Singh submits that petitioner has joined investigation and is no longer required for custodial interrogation.

4. Learned counsel for the complainant opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail on the ground that petitioner was principal offender, who in connivance with co-accused prepared and used forged and fabricated Will dated 10.10.2012 of late Smt. Harbans Kaur and created forged affidavit by forging the signature of Harbans Kaur. Therefore, he was not entitled to grant of anticipatory bail.

5. Petitioner has joined investigation pursuant to order of this Court dated 08.05.2026 and his further custodial interrogation is not required. In the circumstances of the case but without commenting on merits, the petition is allowed and order dated dated 08.05.2026, granting interim anticipatory bail to the petitioner, is made absolute, subject to the conditions laid down in Section 482(2) of Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023.

6. Pending CRM(s), if any, are also disposed of accordingly.
