1. On 29.5.2026, the following order was passed: ‘Apprehending their arrest in FIR No.22 dated 20.03.2026, registered for offences punishable under Sections 140(3), 126(2), 115(2), 351(2), 324(4), 191(3), 190, 110 of the BNS, 2023, at Police Station Rureke Kalan, District Barnala; the petitioner has preferred this petition under Section 482 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 seeking pre-arrest bail. Inter alia contends that the petitioners are men aged 27 & 31 years, respectively, they have been falsely implicated into the FIR in question on account of mis-understanding, which has since been resolved and an affidavit/compromise dated 24.4.2026 (copy of which has been appended as Annexure P-1 alongwith the present petition) to this effect has been entered into between the parties & the petitioners are willing to join investigation and cooperate therein. Notice of motion. On the strength of advance service of copy of petition, Mr. Adhiraj Singh Thind, AAG Punjab appears and accepts notice on behalf of the respondent – State of Punjab. At this juncture, Ms. Supreet Singh, Advocate causes appearance on behalf of the complainant. She ratifies the aspect of the matter having been settled/compromised between the parties. Put up on 21.07.2026. To be heard along with CRM-M-27208-2026. The petitioners are directed to appear before the Investigating Officer on 04.06.2026 at 11:00 A.M. in concerned Police Station and join investigation. In the event of arrest, the petitioners shall be released on interim bail subject to their furnishing personal/surety bond(s) to the satisfaction of the Arresting Officer/Investigating Officer. As and when further called by Investigating Officer, the petitioners shall join the investigation. They shall abide by the condition(s) enumerated under Section 482(2) of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.’

2. Learned State counsel (on instructions) submits that pursuant to the order dated 29.5.2026, the petitioners have joined investigation and are no longer required for custodial interrogation.

3. In view of the above, the instant petition is allowed. Interim order dated 29.5.2026, passed by this Court is made absolute, subject to the conditions as enumerated under Section 482(2) of BNSS.

4. This order should not be treated as “blanket” order. It will not be read granting petitioners indefinite protection from arrest. It shall be confined to the FIR mentioned ibid and will not operate in respect of any other incident that involves commission of an offence.

5. Liberty is reserved in favour of State/complainant to move for cancellation/recall of this order in case the petitioners violates any condition stipulated under Section 482(2) of BNSS or upon showing any other sufficient cause.

6. Needless to say that anything observed herein above shall not be construed to be an opinion on the merits of the case.
