…Petitioner V/S STATE OF PUNJAB AND OTHERS …Respondents CORAM: HON’BLE MS. JUSTICE SHALINI SINGH NAGPAL Present: Mr. Anil Sharma, Advocate for the petitioner. Mr. Kunwarbir Singh, AAG Punjab.

**** SHALINI SINGH NAGPAL

J. (Oral) The petition under Section 528 Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 seeks a direction to official respondents No. 1 to 4 to consider and decide representation of the petitioner dated 03.07.2026, fairly and impartially and to take action in accordance with law. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that on 21.05.2026 at about 10.00 AM, respondent No. 5 passed derogatory/casteist remarks against the petitioner. In this regard, petitioner moved a complaint to Deputy Superintendent of Police, Rajpura, for taking appropriate action but to no avail. Learned counsel submits that at this stage, petitioner would be satisfied if appropriate direction is issued to the respondent No.2- Senior Superintendent of Police, District Patiala, to consider and decide representation dated 03.07.2026 (Annexure P-11) moved by petitioner and take necessary action thereupon in a time bound manner. Notice of motion to official respondents only. Mr. Kunwarbir Singh, AAG Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents and submits that AJAY GOSWAMI 2026.07.20 20:03 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

petitioner’s representation was received, parties were called for recording of their statements and appropriate action would be taken in due course. Keeping in view the limited prayer made by petitioner, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No. 2- Senior Superintendent of Police, District Patiala, to decide the aforesaid representation dated 03.07.2026 (Annexure P-11) submitted by petitioner within a period of 15 days from today by passing a reasoned and speaking order in accordance with law and take necessary action, if so required. However, if, respondent No.2 does not find any substance in the allegations levelled in the representation (Annexure P-11), the petitioner shall be informed as per mandate of law. The petition is, therefore, disposed of as such. Pending CRM(s), if any, also sand disposed of.
