DEBTS RECOVERY TRIBUNAL-I, CHANDIGARH chI 2512025 HDFC BANK Vs HARPREET SINGH 21.01.2026 Item No. 122 Present : Mr. Ankur Jindal, Counsel for the Applicant. HDFC Bank, has filed this Chamber Appeal against the order dated 29.10.2025, whereby the Registrar has declined to register this case on the ground that the Bank had not produced the original documents on 03.10.2025. In the appeal, it is alleged that the Appellant Bank's original documents were kept at the centralized record office of the Bank located at Gurgaon (Haryana). Due to the newly adopted procedure, combined with the intervening festival season and administrative coordination between different offices, the retrieval of the said original file to Chandigarh took some additional time the concerned record branch could not timely retrieve the original file and forward the same to the Chandigarh Office within the prescribed period and thus, could not be produced. I am of the considered view, that the Bank has shown sufficient cause. Accordingly, the appeal is allowed and disposed of. The Appellant Bank may produce the documents before the Registrar on any working day up to 09.02.2026, who would register the case DRT-I, Chandigarh
