Order

01/09/2026

1. When the matter was argued on the last date i.e. on 28.01.2026, this Court passed the following order:

[2026:RJ-JP:35242] (2 of 2) [CW-14109/2010] “Being aggrieved by termination of services of the petitioners as WDT Members, this writ petition has been filed by the petitioners. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that although the qualification of possessing engineering degree in civil/agriculture was relaxed by the State Government by way of issuing general order dated 20.02.2008, yet ignoring such relaxation, services of the petitioners were terminated alleging that the petitioners were not qualified. Learned counsel for the respondents is directed to apprise the Court with regard to duration for which WDT Members were appointed by the State Government. Respondents are also required to apprise this Court as to whether the other persons who were also appointed as WDT Members at the relevant time are still continuing or not. Let the matter be listed on 23rd February, 2026.“

2. In compliance of order dated 28.01.2026, the respondents have filed additional affidavit in which it has been specified that the other persons who were earlier appointed as WDT Members at the relevant time, continued only for a period of five years and thereafter they have been discontinued.

3. In view of above, as the similarly situated persons have already been discontinued, no case of discrimination is made out in favour of the petitioners.

4. Hence, under these circumstances, there is no scope of interference and the writ petition filed by the petitioner is hereby dismissed.

5. Pending application(s), if any, shall also stand disposed of. (ANAND SHARMA),J 66/NEERU
