OFFICE NOTE Learned counsel for respondent No.2 submitted that respondent No.2 does not want to prosecute the proceedings and wants to live a peaceful life. When this Court raised a query as to whether, in heinous offences, the parties are entitled to seek recording of a compromise, particularly in respect of a heinous offences, learned counsel relied upon the principle laid down by the Hon’ble Apex Court in Madhukar and others vs. State of Maharashtra1, wherein it was held that when the victim/de-facto complainant expresses that continuation of the prosecution would cause further disruption to her personal life and that she does not wish to support the charges or pursue the matter further, this Court has the power to record the compromise and to compound the offences. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor has not opposed the same. Since the valuable time of both the State and the Court has been consumed, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners are ready and willing to pay an amount of Rs.10,000/- to the High Court Legal Services Committee, Hyderabad, and an amount of Rs.5,000/- to the Telangana High Court Advocates Association, Hyderabad. In view of the above said submissions made by the respective parties, the petitioners and respondent No.2/de- 1 2025 LiveLaw (SC) 710
