The brief facts of the case are that the petitioner is an MBBS student of SVS lVledical College & Hospital, IVlahabubnagar, affiliated to KNRUHS, who appeared for the Final MBBS part-ll (New Regulations) Examinations held in April, 2026. The results were declared on 30.05.2026, wherein the petitioner secured 1095 out of 1800 marks but was declared unsuccessful solely in the subject of Ophthalmology. Though he secured 105 out of 200 marks in aggregate, including 66 marks in Practicals, he obtained 39 out of '1 00 marks in Theory, falling short by one mark of the minimum qualifying requirement. The petitioner applied for re{otaling of marks on 04.06.2026 by paying the prescribed fee; however, the results thereof have not been declared and no action has been taken on his request for re-verrfication. Aggrieved thereby, the petitioner has approached this Court seeking a direction to the respondent University to consider his request for re-verification/revaluation of his Ophthalmology answer script.
4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has been declared unsuccessful solely due to a deficiency of one mark in the theory component of Ophthalmology, despite securing the requisite aggregate pass marks in the subject and passing all other subjects. lt is contended that the petitioner has already applied for re-totaling, but the respondent University has not declared the !E.i*.6reI7
iustice l!w.d' Srld€v W P No 18309_2026 result thereof or considered his request for re-verification. Learned counsel further submits that the petitioner's internship is in progress and compelling him to appear for the supplementary examination would cause serious prejudice to his academic progression and career He relied upon the order dated 07.01 .2026 in W p. No. 5g5 o't 2026 passed the coordinate bench of this Court, wherein similar directions were issued for consideration of a student,s grievance. Accordingly, a direction is sought to the respondents to consrder the petitioner's request for re-verification/revaluation of his answer script in Ophthalmology.
5. On the other hand, learned Standing Counsel submits that the petitioner was declared unsuccessful in accordance with the applicable Regulations, which require a candidate to secure the minimum qualifying marks separately in theory and practical examinations. Since the petitioner secured only 3g marks in the theory component of Ophthalmology, he was righfly declared failed in the said subject. lt is further submitted that the petitioner has already availed the remedy of re-totaling, which is under process, and that the Regulations do not provide for revaluation of answer scripts. i (

6. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's claim, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondent No 2-University to consider and dispose of the petitioner's application dated 04.06.2026 seeking re-totaling/re-verification of his Ophthalmology answer script, in accordance with the applicable Regulations and law, as expeditiously as possible. Accordingly, the wrlt petition is disposed of with the above direction. No order as to costs. [\Iiscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed SD/.A.H.S.
