According to petitioner, he has applied for permission to sell his agricultural land situate in Village Khera, Tehsil Haldwani, District Nainital, to the District Magistrate under Section 157-A of Zamindari Abolition and Land Reforms Act, 1950, however, decision has not been taken on that application.

4. It is contended that total land holding of petitioner in State of Uttarakhand is 1.637 hectare, out of which he wants to sell only 0.0430 hectare in District Nainital. The application is said to be made on 22.08.2022.

5. Having regard to the facts of the case, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to District Magistrate, Nainital to examine petitioner’s request and take appropriate decision, as per law, within four weeks from the date of presentation of certified copy of this order.
