Aditya Birla Lifestyle Brands Ltd. ……Appellant -Vs- UCO Bank & Anr. … Respondents Mr. Soumava Mukherjee, Learned Counsel for the Appellants None for the Respondents. THE APPELLATE TRIBUNAL : Service upon the respondents is held sufficient. Despite service, none appeared for the UCO Bank. This is very peculiar situation wherein earlier Mr. S.N. Patra Bhatta appeared for the bank but did not file the Vakala Nama. Hence, fresh notices were directed to be issued to the bank which were issues and were duly served, but despite service none is appearing for the bank. It is a very serious issue wherein the UCO Bank who is the custodian of the public money is trying to avoid the appearance in the appeal. In such circumstances, let the notice be issued to the General Manager of the UCO Bank, intimating the facts of the case and copy of this order and also asking him to
2 appear virtually on the next date of hearing i.e. on 17th August, 2026. List on 17th August, 2026 for hearing. It is made clear that if there is no response from the side of bank on the date fixed, matter shall be taken up for hearing and necessary orders shall be passed.
