PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to rectify the mistake committed by the 2nd respondent in document No.1978 of 2002 dated 22.08.2002 based on the petitioner's representation dated 16.07.2026 take appropriate action against the 2nd respondent within the time stipulated by this Court.

ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed seeking for a mandamus to correct the entries in the Encumbrance Certificate in consonance with the registered document bearing Document No.1978 of 2002, dated 22.08.2002.
2. Heard Mr.H.Velavadhas, learned counsel for the petitioner and Ms.M.D.Devi Saravana Priya, learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents.
3. A perusal of the Encumbrance Certificate as well as the document would clearly indicate that the entries in the Encumbrance Certificate had been erroneously made and in that regard, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the first respondent would take steps to make necessary correction within a period of two weeks.
4. In such view of the matter, there shall be a direction to the first respondent to consider the representation dated 16.07.2026 made by the petitioner and correct the entries in the Encumbrance Certificate in

WP(MD) No. 30508 of 2026 consonance with the registered document bearing Document No.1978 of 2002, dated 22.08.2002 within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
