ORDER

The petitioner seeks a direction to the respondents to exhume the body of his deceased wife, namely Sheela, from the burial ground situated at Solapuram, Kotticode Village, Kalkulam Taluk, Kanyakumari District, and conduct a post-mortem examination.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner suspects that his wife’s death was caused by murdering and,

WP(MD) No. 9316 of 2024 therefore, seeks exhumation of the body and a post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause of death.

3. The learned Government Advocate, on instructions, submits that the deceased died on 28.02.2024 and that, as per the report obtained from the Medical Officer, the death was recorded as natural. It is further submitted that no post-mortem examination was conducted before the body was buried.

4. Considering the fact that the death occurred in the year 2024 and the body has already been buried, this Court is not inclined to issue the direction sought for in the present writ petition.

5. Accordingly, this writ petition is closed. 27-10-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Neutral Citation: Yes/No skn
