ORDER
This contempt petition has been filed to punish the Respondents for wilful disobedience of the order dated 20.08.2024 in WP.No.23776 of 2024.
2. When the matter was taken up for hearing today, a memo of compliance was filed by the learned Standing Counsel for the Corporation and the relevant portions are extracted hereunder:

2. It is Submitted that the first petitioner Thiru. R. Narayanamoorthy, who was working as a driver at Cuddalore-1 Depot, retired from service on 31.08.2018 He was appointed under the 13th Wage Settlement on 04.01.2018. At the time when he was in service, the 12(3) wage settlement agreement had been implemented and a revised pay structure was introduced...
3. It is Submitted that the 2nd petitioner also acknowledge the payment by receipts. Under these circumstances, it is therefore prayed before this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to record the above submission and close the contempt petition and thus render justice.
2. In view of the above, insofar as the 2nd petitioner is concerned, the settlement has taken place in line with the order passed by this Court. As far as the 1st petitioner is concerned, the Corporation has taken a stand that he is not entitled to the difference in the amounts payable towards surrender of earned leave, gratuity and pension arrears, as per the 13th and 14th Wage Settlements and therefore, no amount is payable to the 1st petitioner. If the 1st petitioner is aggrieved by the same, it is left open to the 1st petitioner to independently work out his remedy in the manner known to law.
