ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed for the following reliefs:- “directing the respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioners representation dated 16.09.2026 seeking for the grant of lease to the petitioner of fishing rights in the Illupulli Lake located in Tiruchengodu for a period of ten years commencing from 2026- 2036.”
2. The petitioner would submit that he is a resident of Illupuli Village, Tiruchengode Taluk, Namakkal District, wherein an Eri (tank) is situated and utilised for fishing activities. The respondents are maintaining and exercising control over the said Eri and have been conducting public auctions for granting fishing rights. However, no auction has been conducted for the current year.
3. The petitioner would submit that he is a poor labourer and is interested in obtaining the fishing lease in respect of the said Eri. Owing to the prevailing water scarcity, fishing activities have become difficult, and the petitioner is willing to pay the lease amount as fixed by the respondents, considering his

financial circumstances.

The petitioner would submit that he had repeatedly approached the respondents seeking the fishing lease for a period of ten years from 2026 to 2036, and a resolution was also passed by the village in this regard. Subsequently, on 16.09.2026, he submitted a representation seeking the grant of fishing rights for 10 years from 2026 to 2036. However, the respondents have not considered the same to date. Hence, the present Writ Petition seeking the reliefs states supra.
5. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the records.
6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider and pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation 16.09.2026, on merits and in accordance with law within a period of 2 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
