ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed for the following reliefs:- “directing the respondent to consider the representation dated 03.07.2026 and consequently disconnect and terminate the electricity connections bearing A/c. No. 01-151-028-907 at Bo.184C, D Mellows Road, Pattalam, Chennai – 600012.”

2. The petitioner would submit that he had been operating an engineering factory for about 15 years at Door No. 151, Strahans Road Mugappu, Otteri, Chennai – 600012. Owing to a slump in business, he subsequently requested the respondent to shift the electricity service connection to his new premises at Demellows Road, Chennai – 600012.
3. The petitioner would submit that the respondent acceded to his request and shifted the electricity service connection to a leasehold property owned by Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Devasthanam and Charities, Chennai – 600001, where he continued his business activities.

The petitioner would submit that, owing to his advanced age of about 87 years, he was unable to continue his business and accordingly submitted a representation dated 03.07.2026 requesting the respondent to disconnect the electricity service connection bearing Account No. 01-151-028-907. However, the respondent has failed to consider the said request to date. Hence, the present Writ Petition.
5. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the records.
6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court without going into the merits of the case,

directs the respondent to consider and pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation 03.07.2026, on merits and in accordance with law within a period of 4 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
