ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Writ of Mandamus seeking for a direction to the respondents herein to grant patta to the house site and dwelling house in occupation of the petitioner comprised in Survey No.421/2C1A, and 405/2 bearing New Door No.15/5A and 15/5, 3rd Street, Indira Nagar, I Lane, Alangulam Taluk, Tenkasi District, purchased by a registered sale deed dated 24.09.1979.

2. Heard Mr.K.Appadurai, learned Counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Sathish Kumar, learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage.

3. Though the petitioner seeks for a positive direction to direct the respondents to issue patta in his favour, the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that it would be suffice if a direction is issued to the respondents to consider and pass orders on the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 28.02.2026.

4. Considering the limited scope of prayer now sought by the learned Counsel for the petitioner, this Court is inclined to issue the following directions: “The second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 28.02.2026 on merits and after affording sufficient opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and all other interested parties, if any, shall pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.”

5. With the above directions, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. 26-10-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Neutral Citation: Yes/No cmr To
