2. The petitioner, who belongs to the Scheduled Caste community, was allotted a plot in Cuddalore District, under the Government house-site assignment scheme in 1997, and has been residing therein with his family for nearly three decades after constructing a residential house and paying taxes and electricity charges. Though the land was allotted to several Scheduled Caste beneficiaries, the computerized revenue records wrongly continue to show the

classification as "Arulmigu Jothiswara Swamy Temple", whereas the RTI reply dated 28.01.2025 confirms the classification as "Adi Dravidar Welfare Natham" and patta has already been granted to similarly situated beneficiaries. The petitioner submitted a representation dated 12.09.2026 seeking correction of the classification and grant of a patta, but no effective action has been taken. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

5. Since the core issue involved in this writ petition is consideration of the representation, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioner’s representation dated 12.09.2026 and pass orders on the same within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, on its own merits and in accordance with law, after providing an opportunity of hearing to all the parties concerned.
