ORDER
This Writ Petition is filed asking for a Writ of Mandamus directing the 4th and 5th respondents to settle the arrear amount, i.e., Rs.26,50,000/- with interest for the works done by the petitioner in the year 2025 at Odakkarai Municipal Middle School, Kayalpattinam, Thoothukudi District, by revaluing the construction made by the petitioner with a suitable engineer, as narrated in the petitioner’s representation, dated 23.09.2026.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is a registered contractor and he was awarded with two contracts involving the construction of two additional class rooms, dinning hall and toilets in Odakkarai Municipal Middle School, Kayalpattinam, Thoothukudi District, under a development scheme. The petitioner had completed the construction work. __________

3. Only after filing of WP (MD) No.13085 of 2025, the fourth respondent released a part of the amount, i.e., Rs.20,14,000/-. There was a balance of Rs.65,86,000/-. Subsequently, another sum of Rs.39,36,000/- was paid to the petitioner on August 2026 and cumulatively the petitioner had received a sum of Rs.59,50,000/- against the bill amount of Rs.56,00,000/-.
4. In this regard, the petitioner had submitted a detailed representation to the respondents on 23.09.2026 which remains pending on the file of the fourth respondent.
5. Accordingly, he prays for a limited direction to the fourth respondent to consider the request submitted vide representation dated 23.09.2026 and pass appropriate orders within a prescribed time period.
6. Mrs.K.Porkodi, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the authorities will consider the representation made by the Writ Petitioner and pass appropriate orders within a period of eight [8] weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
7. Recording the above submissions, considering the limited prayer sought for by the writ petitioner, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the fourth respondent to pass orders on the representation dated 23.09.2026, made by the writ petitioner and dispose the same on __________
