PRAYER:
Writ Petition, filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent no.2 to conclude the patta cancellation proceedings pending on the file of him in E/475472/2026 dated 15.07.2026 for the land in S.No. 85/5 and 86/3 (which is now subdivided into 86/3A1, 3A2 and 3B) Vadakkupuliyampatti Village, Kariyapatti Taluk, Virudhunagar District within stipulated time by this Court.

ORDER
Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for Respondents 1 to 3.
2. Considering the limited relief that has been sought for in the Writ Petition, notice to the respondents 4 to 7 is dispensed with.
3. This Writ Petition is filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent no.2 to conclude the patta cancellation proceedings pending on the file of him in E/475472/2026 dated 15.07.2026 for the land in S.No. 85/5 and 86/3 (which is now subdivided into 86/3A1, 3A2 and 3B) Vadakkupuliyampatti Village, Kariyapatti Taluk, Virudhunagar District.
4. It is submitted that proceedings have been initiated at the behest of the petitioner in E/475472/2026, dated 15.07.2026.
5. Considering the fact that further proceedings have been initiated by the 2nd respondent pursuant to the petitioner's appeal, the 2nd respondent is directed to dispose of the proceedings so initiated
WP(MD) No. 30138 of 2026 within a period of four (4) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, respondents 4 to 7 and other interested persons, if any.
