These petitions have been filed for almost identical substantive reliefs. The relief clause of CWP No. 18257 of 2026 (Prem Singh vs. HPSEBL) has been extracted hereinafter for reference:- “i. That writ in the nature of mandamus may kindly be issued directing the respondent board to calculate the daily wages services of the petitioner to count with the regular services for the purpose of full gratuity.
ii. That on counting the daily wages services towards the regular services, the gratuity may kindly be ordered to be revised and the difference of the gratuity may kindly be ordered to be disbursed on counting the dearness allowances according to the notification dated 01.01.2020, 01.07.2020, 01.01.2021 on its revision along with interest accruing upon the same @9% per annum.
iii. That the leave encashment may kindly be ordered to be re- calculated according to the revised pay scale dated 01.01.2016 and difference of the arrear of the same may kindly be ordered to be disbursed to the petitioner on its revision along with interest accruing upon the same @9% per annum.
iv. That the arrear of revised gratuity and leave encashment for the period of 01.01.2020, 01.07.2020 and 01.01.2021 i.e., 21%, 24%, 28%, which was freezed for this period of the petitioner, may also be ordered to be disbursed on its revision along with interest accruing upon the same @9% per annum.”
3. Petitioners are aged 60 years and above. They have filed all these writ petitions claiming above extracted reliefs on 22.09.2026. Admittedly, prior to instituting the instant writ petitions, petitioners have not even moved any representation to the respondents at all for the redressal of their grievances as now pointed out before this court. At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that two weeks' time be given to the petitioners to make representations.
4. Having regard to the afore-submissions, but without examining the merits of the matter, these writ petitions are disposed of with a direction to the respondents/competent authority in case representations are made within two weeks from today, the same shall be considered and decided in accordance with law within a period of six weeks thereafter. The decision so arrived at shall also be communicated to the petitioners. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed of.
