JUDGMENT

The Criminal Appeal challenges the Judgment of acquittal passed in Crl.A.No.14 of 2021, dated 04.10.2021, by the learned Additional District Judge, Hosur.

2. The appellant had filed a complaint against the respondent stating that the respondent had issued a cheque for Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs Only), which was dishonoured for the reason “Funds Insufficient," and in spite of statutory notice, the respondent did not make any payment.

3. The Trial Court convicted the respondent. The Appellate Court set aside the Judgment of conviction.

4. Both the appellant and the respondent are present in person, identified by their counsel, and have also produced their Aadhar cards.

5. Pending the above appeal, the parties have entered into a compromise, by which the appellant had agreed to receive Rs.2,50,000/- (Rupees Two Lakhs Fifty Thousand Only) in full and final settlement of all his claims and had received Rs.50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand Only) on 12.10.2026. The parties have filed a Joint Memo of Compromise dated 15.10.2026.

6. The Joint Memo of Compromise dated 15.10.2026 signed by the appellant, the respondent, and their counsel is taken on record and shall be treated as a part and parcel of this Judgment.

7. It is also reported that the respondent had already deposited Rs.2,00,000/- (Rupees Two Lakhs Only) to the credit of S.T.C.No.168 of 2016. The appellant is permitted to withdraw the same with accrued interest if any.

8. Accordingly, the Criminal Appeal is disposed of in terms of the above compromise. 15-10-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Neutral Citation: Yes/No dk Copy to:
