ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by S.M.Subramaniam J.) Writ of mandamus has been instituted to direct Respondents 3 to 5, to verify and correct the revenue and registration records and take appropriate consequential action against the encroachment.

2. Writ petitioner has stated that there is an encroachment in Town Survey No. 133 (Old Survey No.27-4) at Periyeri village, Salem. It is further contended that the passage has been encroached upon by the private respondents 6 to 10.

WP No. 42291 of 2026

3. Learned Special Government Pleader, based on the written instructions given by the Tahsildar, Salem, vide letter dated 15.10.2026 would submit that on verification of town survey records, authorities found that Town Survey No.133 is a patta land. There is no remark regarding existence of pathway in the said survey number. Except by stating in the affidavit, petitioner has not produced any records to establish that it is a Government poramboke land or classified as pathway.
