PRAYER: Writ Petition, filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this court to issue a Writ of MANDAMUS or any other appropriate writ or order or direction in the nature of writ to direct the 1st respondent to reissue the passport to the petitioner by vide application TR1074953068626 dated 20.08.2026 within the time frame to be fixed by this Honble Court and to pass any other further or other orders as this Honble Court deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case and thus render justice.

ORDER
After applying for reissuance of a passport on 20.08.2026, the petitioner has approached this Court for a direction in that regard.
2. Mrs.S.Mahalakshmi, learned Standing Counsel, accepts notice for the first respondent and Mr.R.mohamed Riyaz, learned Government Advocate, accepts notice for the second respondent.
3. Learned counsel for the second respondent submits that no charge sheet was filed pursuant to Crime No.98 of 2021.
4. In view of the above submissions, there is no impediment for the processing of the application. Therefore, the first respondent is directed to process the petitioner's application and take a decision thereon within three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
