O R D E R
(Order of the Court was made by S.M.Subramaniam J.) This Writ Petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents to take necessary steps to evict the encroachers and prevent others from encroaching the Park Playground and Hospital in Konerikuppam Village, S.Nos.72/1, 121/1, 139/141, 142 and 145/3.

2. With reference to the relief sought for in the writ petition, learned Government Advocate appearing for R1 to R8 would submit that encroachments in OSR lands were identified by competent authorities and show cause notices were issued to encroachers. Some of the encroachers submitted representations and few of them have filed appeal before Appellate Authority. Some of the encroachers are claiming that they are bona fide purchasers of land from Developers.
3. All these issues are to be considered by Competent Authorities and appropriate enforcement actions are to be initiated. It is made clear that OSR lands vest with Local Body and to be maintained for public purpose. Encroachments, if any identified in OSR lands are to be removed by following procedures as contemplated under relevant Statute and Rules in force. Representations / appeals filed by encroachers are directed to be considered and final decision shall be taken thereon. Thereafter, competent Authorities shall proceed with enforcement action. The entire exercise is directed to be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
