ORDER

Asserting that the petitioner, Sri Vyasaraja Mutt, is the owner of the properties described in the petition, the petitioner canvases a grievance relating to encroachments on the properties and the collection of property tax from third persons.

2. Accepting notice for the respondents, Mr.S.Iniyan Karthik, learned Government Advocate, submits that no property tax is being collected by the respondents. It is also submitted that the petitioner should approach the jurisdictional Civil Court in relation to the alleged encroachments.

WP(MD) No. 29211 of 2026

3. The petitioner has placed on record prima facie evidence in the form of an 'A' Register and pattas. These documents mention the name of the Mutt. In those circumstances, the petitioner should approach the jurisdictional Civil Court in relation to the alleged encroachments. Likewise, as regards the collection of property tax, the petitioner should approach the local authority concerned if the assessment is being done in the name of a person other than the owner or occupier.

4. With these observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. 13-10-2026 Index: No Speaking Neutral Citation: No JEN To
