ORDER
The present Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Writ of Mandamus seeking for a direction to the 3rd and 4th respondents to survey and demarcate the petitioner’s property situated in old survey No.218/3 and new sub divided survey No.218/27 in Vembar Village, Vilathikulam Taluk, Thoothukudi District by considering the petitioner’s online Petition dated 31.08.2026.

Heard Mr.S.Vishnuvardhan, learned Counsel for the petitioner, Mr.S.Siva Thilakar, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 4 and Mr.I..Murugesan, learned Counsel for State of Tamil Nadu, who accepts notice on behalf of the 5th respondent. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. In view of the order proposed to be passed, notice to the sixth respondent is dispensed with. __________

It is the case of the petitioner that he is the owner of the subject property and in order to survey and fix boundaries for the subject property, he has made an online application to the respondent authority on 31.08.2026. Since the said application has not been considered till date, the present Writ Petition has been filed seeking the aforesaid relief.
4. Considering the limited scope of prayer sought in the Writ Petition, this Court is inclined to issue the following directions: “The fourth respondent is directed to conduct survey of the subject property by considering the application submitted by the petitioner on 31.08.2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If necessary, the fourth respondent can seek assistance of the fifth respondent at the time of surveying, who in turn, shall provide adequate police protection at the cost of the petitioner.
5. It is made clear that the order passed and the proceedings undertaken pursuant thereto would not confer any right to possession of the property if the same is in the hands of third parties. __________
