from the Labour Authorities, he made a detailed representation to all the concerned authorities including the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Puducherry etc., Thereafter, on 17.02.2026, the petitioner was issued with the impugned order rejecting his claim on the ground that the exgratia benefit for accidental death were applicable to the workers registered during the period from 26.08.2021 to 31.02.2022 and had further stated the e-SHRAM exgratia claim module was closed on 30.05.2025.

3. Aggrieved by the impugned order, the petitioner is before this Court to quash the same and to direct the respondent to process his claim.

4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader (Pondy) appearing for the first respondent.

5. The claim has been made by the petitioner under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana [PMSBY] for providing exgratia through the e-SHRAM portal. The said scheme namely exgratia benefit for accidental death was applicable to the workers registered in e-SHRAM portal during the period 26.08.2021 to 31.03.2022, and this module itself was closed on 30.06.2025. The petitioner's son had drowned and died on 03.08.2025, after the closure of the module / scheme. Therefore, considering the fact that the scheme itself had come to an end, the request of the petitioner has been rightly rejected vide
