ORDER

The writ petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 20.01.2026 for grant of quarrying lease right under Rule 19(1) of the Tamil Nadu Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 1959 and to dispose of the same, within the time to be fixed by this Court.

2. The petitioner-company is a Private Limited Company, engaged in the business of quarrying and its allied activities. It owned a total extent of 5.43.50 hectares of land in Sinnamarudur Village, Dharapuram Taluk, Tiruppur District. It had submitted an application on 20.01.2026 for grant of quarrying lease right for 3.47.86 hectares of land out of the said total extent. The grievance of the petitioner is that the online portal of the respondent reflects that the petitioner's application is under"Process with District" as on 20.01.2026 itself, however, even after a lapse of 7 months, the respondent had neither considered and disposed of the petitioner's application nor had passed any order of rejection pointing out the defects in the application. The petitioner would submit that he had made repeated enquiries with the office of the respondent and he was informed that the application is kept pending on account of civil suits pending against its land. However, neither an order nor a communication in writing was given to the petitioner in this regard. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court with the present writ petition.

5. Recording the same, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. 08-10-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Neutral Citation: Yes/No DS To: The Director /Assistant Director Department of Geology and Mining District Collector Office Tiruppur District.
