ORDER

The writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 09.07.2024 and to grant compensation for her.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that on 28.04.2024, her husband Anandbabu died due to electrocution while ironing his clothes at his residence. She had lodged a complaint before the police and an FIR was registered. She would submit that her late husband was a painter by profession and she is a house wife. Due to the sudden tragic demise of her husband, she and her two minor children are struggling for the livelihood. Hence, she had submitted her representation dated 09.07.2024 to the respondents to grant compensation for the loss incurred to her family.

3. Heard the learned counsels on either side.

WP No. 40321 of 2026

4. Seeking compensation for the loss incurred to her family due to the death of her husband on account of electrocution, the petitioner is before this Court. A perusal of the records would show that the accident had occurred within the four walls of the petitioner's house and that too when the petitioner's husband was ironing his clothes. The respondent-Board cannot be made liable to pay compensation for an accident that had taken place in a private residence and there is absolutely no allegations made against the Board. Therefore, in this circumstances, no case is made out for grant for relief sought by the petitioner.

5. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
