Prayer: This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the First Respondent to dispose the petitioner’s appeal dated 24.08.2022, within a stipulated period of time, regarding (a) to treat 715 Sq.ft area as residential area, (b) to rectify the error in the no. of Head Rooms and (c) to consider the age of the building while fixing the Basic Street rate and fix property tax accordingly, and refund the excess property tax and consequently the excess water tax collected or otherwise, adjust the same against the future tax demands.

ORDER
This writ petition has been filed to direct the first respondent to dispose the appeal dated 24.08.2022.
2. Mr.E.C.Ramesh, learned Standing Counsel accepts notice on behalf of first respondent. Mrs.V.Vijayalakshmi, learned Standing Counsel takes notice for second respondent. By consent of the both the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has filed an appeal dated 24.08.2022 before the first respondent seeking (a) to treat 715 Sq.ft area as residential area, (b) to rectify the error in the no. of Head Rooms and (c) to consider the age of the building while fixing the Basic Street rate and fix property tax accordingly, and refund the excess property tax and consequently the excess water tax collected or otherwise, adjust the same against the future tax demands. However, the same was not considered, as on date. Hence, this writ petition.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if this Court issues direction to the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's appeal dated 24.08.2022 within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
5. Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the first respondent would submit that the petitioner’s appeal dated 24.08.2022 will be considered within a period of six weeks.
6. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

Considering the limited relief sought by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's appeal dated 24.08.2022 on merits and in accordance with law, after issuing notice and affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner as well as other aggrieved parties if any, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
