ORDER
By consent of both sides, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal. Considering the limited relief sought for in the Writ Petition, notice to the respondents 4 and 5 is dispensed with.

This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of Mandamus to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to conduct a survey and fix the boundaries of the petitioner's agricultural lands comprised in Survey Nos.49/4B, 49/5A, 49/5B, 54/2B, 54/2C, 54/3A and 54/3B, situated at Perungamanallur, Village, Peraiyur Taluk, Madurai District, pursuant to the petitioner's representation and remittance of the requisite survey fee dated 12.01.2026, and consequently, direct the third respondent to
WP(MD) No. 28988 of 2026 provide adequate police protection to the concerned survey officials.

From the analysis of the facts of the case as pleaded by the petitioner as well as the submissions made by the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 and 2, it comes to light that pursuant to the application made by the petitioner, the boundaries of the land in question were surveyed and survey stones were embedded by the second respondent. However, the same had been uprooted by the respondents 4 and 5 without any authority.
4. In that regard, the third respondent is directed to provide police protection to the second respondent to re-survey and re-fix the boundaries and re-lay the survey stones. If any damage is caused by the respondents 4 and 5 or any other party on the survey that is being conducted, the third respondent is directed to take action on a complaint made to him by the second respondent. The exercise shall be carried out by the second respondent, as directed above, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
