ORDER

The writ petition has been filed seeking to quash the impugned letter of the first respondent dated 06.03.2026 in Ref.No.Mi.Pe/E.Ka/Ve.Thatta/ Ko.Thani/Thu.No.322/2025, and consequently to direct the first respondent to restore the service connection of the petitioner.

2. The case of the petitioner is that she possessed certain agricultural lands in Annamangalam, Veppanthattai Taluk, Perambalur District. She was provided with electricity service connection bearing Consumer No.06-348-008- 589 and was sanctioned with 5 HP electric load by TANGEDCO for irrigating the said lands. While so, the 1st respondent, vide impuged letter dated 06.03.2026,, had disconnected the electricity service connection, citing that on 05.03.2025, one Manimegalai, daughter of Paramasivam, had died due to electrocution on account of unauthorised electric fence put up by drawing electricity from the petitioner's service connection, and as a result, an FIR came to be registered accusing the petitioner's husband. The grievance of the petitioner is that the first respondent had disconnected the service connection without issuing any notice or providing an opportunity of hearing to her. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court seeking to quash the impugned order.
