ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by G.R.Swaminathan J.) Heard both sides.

2. The writ petitioner is a differently abled individual. The Government has provided him with a vehicle. Such a person has to be given reasonable accommodation as per the statutory mandate set out in the THE RIGHTS OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES ACT, 2016. The petitioner’s grievance is that he is unable to pass through the said street on account of the construction of steps on the narrow pathway by others.

3. The learned Standing counsel for the local body submits that notices have already been issued for removing the encroachment. We direct the second respondent to take the action to its logical conclusion; the encroachment in the petition mentioned street shall be removed within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. This writ petition stands allowed. No costs. (G.R.S.,J.) (M.D.S.,J.) 06-10-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Neutral Citation: Yes/No PMU
