ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to sanction the financial upgradation under the Modified Assured Career Progression Scheme to the petitioner with effect from 18.08.2021 for completion of 10 years of service in the same grade and grant him all consequential benefits.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner was initially appointed as a Primary School Teacher on a consolidated wage basis on 04.06.2001 at Fathima Government Aided Boys High School, Puducherry. Subsequently, the petitioner was promoted to the post of Trained Graduate Teacher on 17.08.2011. It is the contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner that, having completed ten years of service in the cadre of Trained Graduate Teacher on 18.08.2021, the petitioner has become eligible for financial upgradation under the Modified Assured Career Progression Scheme. Though the School Management sent a letter dated 28.10.2021 to the second respondent, requesting the issuance of orders sanctioning the benefits to the eligible staff members, the same is still pending consideration. In this regard, the petitioner has already submitted a representation dated 20.01.2022, which is yet to be considered.

3. At this juncture, the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents submitted that they would consider the petitioner’s representation in accordance with the law.

4. 5. With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs. 05-10-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Neutral Citation: Yes/No SHL
