This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking writ of mandamus directing the respondents to correct the date of birth of the petitioner in the birth certificate bearing registration No.7382
from 11/09/1996 to 16/04/1997,pursuant to the representation dated 20/07/2026
and consequently direct the respondents to issue a corrected birth certificate to the petitioner.

Order
This writ petition is filed for the following relief: “To direct respondents to correct the date of birth of the petitioner in the birth certificate bearing registration No.7382 from 11/09/1996 to 16/04/1997, pursuant to the representation dated 20/07/2026 and consequently direct the respondents to issue a corrected birth certificate to the petitioner.”
2. The petitioner was born on 16.04.1997. However, in the birth certificate his date of birth has been wrongly recorded as 11.09.1996. The petitioner would submit that his date of birth, namely, 16.04.1997 has been recorded in all his education and other official records and the discrepancy is only in the birth certificate. Therefore, the petitioner made a representation dated 20.07.2026 to the respondents to correct the petitioner’s date of birth. Since there is no response, the petitioner is before this Court.
3. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the fact that the petitioner’s representation dated 20.07.2026 has not been considered to date, a direction is issued to respondents to consider the petitioner’s representation and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of 4 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of
