ORDER

The respondent is present in person today. She has also filed a consent affidavit dated 01.10.2026, duly attested by one Mr.A.Devanathan, Advocate and Notary Public, stating that the respondent has no objection to the Subordinate Judge, Alandur. incorporating the initial ‘R.M’ before the name of her former husband, Periyakaruppan.

2. H.M.O.P. No.234 of 2025 was filed on the file of the learned Subordinate Judge Alandur, under Section 13-B of the Hindu Marriage Act and the marriage between the petitioner and respondent was also dissolved by an order dated 11.11.2025. After the order copy came to be issued, the petitioner- husband noticed that the order did not carry his correct initial ‘RM’, but had mentioned it as ‘R’, instead of ‘RM’. He therefore moved an application before the Subordinate Court Alandur, seeking necessary amendments to reflect the correct initial of the petitioner. The said application, by docket order dated 09.04.2026 was returned on the ground even in the 13-B petition, the petitioner’s initial has been mentioned only as ‘R.Periyakaruppan’ and not ‘RM.Periyakaruppan’.

3. The petitioner, along with type set of papers, has enclosed the official records to show that his name is only ‘RM.Periyakaruppan’ and not ‘R.Periyakaruppan’. Moreover, his former wife, the respondent, who is present in person, also does not have any objection for the correction of the initial of the petitioner.

4. In the light of the above, the Civil Revision Petition is allowed. The docket order dated 09.04.2026 in I.A.S.R..No.978 of 2026 is set aside and in fact, the prayer of the petitioner is allowed. The learned Subordinate Judge

Alandur, shall formally number I.A.S.R.No.978 of 2026 and permit the petitioner to carry out necessary amendments in the 13-B petition and thereafter, incorporate correct initial ‘RM’ before the name ‘Periyakaruppan’ and issue corrected consent order copy to both the petitioner, as well as the respondent.

5. It is also stated that yet another application is also pending for correction of the name of the petitioner in the H.M.O.P. No. 234 of 2025. The said application shall also be entertained and numbered, without any objection and after allowing both the applications, the Subordinate Court shall permit the counsel Mr.S.Mohamed Uduman, who represented the petitioner-husband to carry out necessary corrections in the H.M.O.P petition, incorporating ‘RM’ as the initial of the petitioner-husband instead of ‘R’ and thereafter a fresh certified copy of the consent order shall be issued to both the petitioner and the respondent. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of four weeks from the date of production of the order copy. No costs. 01-10-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Neutral Citation: Yes/No ATA To The Subordinate Judge, Alandur.
