ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to accept the application and candidature of the petitioner in Group IV and issue Hall Ticket and permit her

WP No. 13800 of 2022

to appear in the Written examination scheduled to be held on 24.07.2022 as per the Notification No.07 of 2022 dated 30.03.2022 issued by the Respondent.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had applied for Group IV Examination in TNPSC through online on 14.04.2022. Thereafter she had prepared for her examination and later found that her another application for Group II & IIA was rejected for non-payment of fee as she availed the permissible number of fee concession. Thereafter, the petitioner had given representation to the respondent on 13.05.2022 for considering the applications and to permit her to write exam. But, the same was not considered by the respondent.

3. It is the contention of the petitioner that the petitioner had completed 32 years of age and she will not have the opportunity to write the TNPSC exam in future. Hence, she has filed this Writ Petition seeking a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to accept her application and permit her to appear for the examination scheduled on 24.07.2022.

4. The Special Government Pleader would contend that nearly 3056 applications were rejected for non-payment of examination fee. Furthermore it is also submitted that the examination has already taken place and the prayer sought for in the writ petition becomes infructuous.

WP No. 13800 of 2022

5. I have given my anxious consideration to either side submissions.

6. While looking into the factual position, the prayer sought for by the petitioner was for the issuance of a hall ticket for the examination scheduled on 24.07.2022. As we are currently in the year 2026, and taking note of the submission made by the learned Special Government Pleader that the said examination has already been conducted, nothing survives for adjudication in this Writ Petition.

7. In such view of the factual position, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs. 30-09-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Neutral Citation: Yes/No SHL To: The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Rep by its secretary, TNPSC Road, Chennai- 600 003.
