O R D E R
We find from the impugned order that the learned counsel who appeared for the petitioner stated before the High Court that the petitioner, Shambhu Sahani @ Shambhu Kumar @ Shambhu Kumar Sahani, had one past criminal antecedent. vs. State of Uttar Pradesh”1, the suppression of this fact is fatal to the case of the petitioner. The special leave petition is, accordingly, dismissed on this short ground. We may note that the issue of suppression of past criminal antecedents keeps coming up time and again before this Court in special leave petitions filed for anticipatory bail/regular bail. It would be appropriate that the Registry insist upon an entry being made, as a matter of course, in the Synopsis/Listing Proforma under the heading ‘Criminal Antecedents’ to ascertain whether a petitioner who seeks anticipatory bail/regular bail has any past criminal cases and if so, to furnish full details thereof, including cases in which he/she has been acquitted. This procedure shall be followed without fail in all future cases. A copy of this order shall be forwarded to the Registrar (Judicial) of this Court for ensuring compliance. Pending application(s), if any, shall stand disposed of. (BABITA PANDEY) (PREETI SAXENA) AR-CUM-PS COURT MASTER (NSH)
