ORDER
This petition has been filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the 5th respondent to accord necessary police protection for proceeding with laying of Electric transmission poles in Sembiyanatham Village, Kadavur, Karur District in light of his representation, dated 07.09.2026.
2. Mr.D.Rajaboopathy, learned Government Advocate, (Crl. Side) takes notice for the respondents 1, 2 & 5 and Mr.A.Sivasubramanian, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents 3 & 4. Heard the counsel on either side and perused the records.
3. The learned Government Advocate submitted that the petitioner’s representation dated 07.09.2026 was received by the 5th respondent on 16.09.2026. He would further submit that there is no clear-cut requirement specified as to how many police personnel are required for police protection and for how many days. Therefore, if the petitioner makes a fresh representation explicitly mentioning the required duration (number of days) and the strength of police personnel per day, it will enable the respondents to issue proceedings demanding the petitioner to deposit the necessary charges as per the prevailing DGP Circular.
4. In view of the above, the petitioner is directed to submit a fresh representation specifying the exact number of days and the daily strength of police personnel required. Upon receipt of such representation, the 5th respondent is directed to issue appropriate proceedings to the petitioner within one week from the date of receipt of the fresh representation.
5. The petitioner is directed also directed to pay the amount demanded by the respondent via challan into the Government Account. Upon such payment, the 5th respondent shall provide the necessary police protection/personnel. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of two (2) months from today.
6. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. 22.09.2026 TM To
