2. Mr. D. Rajaboopathy, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) takes notice for the 1st respondent and Mr. A. Sivasubramanian, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the 2nd respondent.
3. This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to consider the representation dated 02.09.2026, submitted by the petitioner, seeking adequate police protection for surveying the petitioner's land.

4. The petitioner had already filed W.P.(MD) No.14483 of 2026, wherein by the order dated 02.06.2026, a direction was issued to survey the land. However, according to the petitioner, the respondent police has not yet provided the necessary police bandobast to survey the land.

When the matter was taken up for consideration, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) submitted that, pursuant to the earlier orders of this Court, the 1st respondent had informed the petitioner that necessary police protection would be provided upon the payment of the prescribed charges, as per the circular issued by the Director General of Police (DGP).
6. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) further submitted that the petitioner had paid the requisite charges and that, today, the first respondent had deputed two police constables to attend duty at the petitioner’s land in connection with the proposed survey. The same was also brought to the notice of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner. He further submitted that, though the police constables reached the subject land with a

WP.CRL.(MD). No.5259 of 2026 slight delay but that time the surveyor had already left the place. It was submitted that the surveyor would visit the subject property on a future date and measure the property with necessary police protection.
7. In view of the above submission, this Court records that the 1st respondent has provided the police protection to survey the land. The petitioner may proceed to survey the land on his own time subject to further providing the police protection.
