ORDER

This petition has been filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to issue to Non-Traceable certificate to the petitioner with regard to the missing original registered sale deed, dt. 25.08.2008 registered as Document No. 1806 of 2008 on the file of Sub-Registrar, Budhalur, Thanjavur District and also sale deed dated 26.03.2015 registered as Document No. 591/2015 on the file of the Sub-Registrar, Budhalur, Thanjavur District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 07.08.2026, within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. Mr.D.Rajaboopathy, learned Government Advocate, (Crl. Side) takes notice for the respondents. Heard the counsel on either side and perused the records.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that a representation was submitted to the respondent police seeking the issuance of a Non-Traceable Certificate in respect of a missing original document. Though the respondent police received the petitioner's representation, the same remains pending without any final decision or consideration.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that it would suffice if a direction is issued to the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation within a stipulated time frame.

5. Taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer, and without going into the merits of the case, the respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation on merits and pass appropriate orders regarding the issuance of the Non-Traceable Certificate in accordance with the law, within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and issue Non-Traceable Certificate, if necessary, forthwith.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. 16.09.2026 TM To

1. The Inspector Of Police, Thanjavur West Town Police Station Thanjavur District.

2. The Additional Public Prosecutor, Madurai Bench of Madras High Court, Madurai.
