Heard both sides.

2. Mr. A. Sivasubramanian, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for respondents 1 to 3 and Mr. C. Susikumar, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), takes notice for the 4th respondent and Mr. R. Karthick Rajan, learned counsel, takes notice for respondents 5 to 9.

3. This writ petition has been filed challenging the rejection order passed by the 2nd respondent dated 07.08.2026, in the nature of writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to quash the same and consequently, direct the respondents 1 to 4 to permit the petitioner and the devotees of Sri Adaikalam Kaththa Ayyanar Temple to conduct the festival Kidavettu Pooja on 15.08.2026 and 16.08.2026 based on the petitioner's representation dated 11.08.2026.

4. This matter came up with admission on 14.08.2026, just one day prior to the scheduled date of the festival. Though the rejection order was passed on 07.08.2026, this writ petition was filed before this Court on 12.08.2026, and get it numbered on 13.08.2026. Since there are private respondents 5 to 9, without hearing them no final order could be passed. Therefore this Court issued notice to the private respondents 5 to 9 returnable in 2 weeks. In the meantime the scheduled date of the festival gone away and no festival has been conducted, as submitted by the petitioners as well as the private respondents counsel.

5. Technically, this petition is infructuous. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner decided to conduct the same festival in the forth-coming October month. If it is so, the petitioner can make a representation to the official respondent to consider his request and in such a request is made the official respondent is directed to take a better decision well in advance before the scheduled date of the festival, which will enable the party to conduct the festival.

6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. 15.09.2026 Index :Yes/No Internet :Yes/No NCC :Yes/No
