ORDER
This petition has been filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd Respondent to the provide adequate and necessary police protection for the peaceful conduct of the Maha Kumbabishegam and the related religious festival scheduled to be conducted from 17.09.2026 to 19.09.2026 at Shri Dharma Muniswarar and Shri Valavantah Amman Temple, situated at V.Meenatchipuram, Paramakudi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District, by preventing any unlawful interference or disturbance by the respondents 3 and 4 or any other persons, on basis of the petitioner's representation dated 22.08.2026 and consequently ensure the maintenance of law and order and the peaceful conduct of the festival.

WP.Crl.(MD)No.5210 of 2026 notice for the respondents 1 and 2 and submitted that the second respondent police has passed an order granting permission and agreeing to provide police protection for the conduct of the Maha Kumbhabhishekam ceremony. He further submitted that with respect to the other requested events, namely the cultural program (Pattu Katcheri) and Valli Thirumanam drama, the second respondent police rejected the permission vide order dated 14.09.2026, which has been duly served on and received by the petitioner.
3. In view of the fact that permission and police protection have already been granted for the main Kumbhabhishekam ceremony, the grievance of the petitioner regarding the Kumbabhishekam festival stands addressed. Therefore, the petitioner is at liberty to challenge the rejection order dated 14.09.2026 regarding the cultural events (Pattu Katcheri and drama) in the manner known to law, if so advised.
4. Recording the submission that permission and police protection for conducting the Maha Kumbhabhishekam have been granted by the second respondent police, this Writ Petition is disposed of without notice to respondents 3 and 4. 15.09.2026 TM
